All the flavours of sausage and mash, but made in one pot. Rich onion gravy with herby sausages.

Ingredients

  • 8 pork sausages
  • 3 onions, sliced into rings
  • 4 potatoes, thickly sliced
  • 1 beef stock cube dissolved in 300ml water
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp dried sage
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • Knob of butter
  • Salt and pepper

Method

  1. Brown the sausages in a hot pan.
  2. Layer the potato slices in the slow cooker.
  3. Add the onions, then place the sausages on top.
  4. Mix the stock, Worcestershire sauce, sage, and thyme. Pour over.
  5. Dot with butter.
  6. Cook on Low for 6-8 hours.
  7. The potatoes will be soft and the onions will have become a rich gravy.

Tips

The onions cook down into a gorgeous dark gravy around the sausages. Serve with greens or peas on the side.
